WIP

Here's what I have on my studio easel. It's 20" x 32".

I painted out on Sunday near my house. This is just off the road in Becks Preserve, where I've painted a number of times. I need to remind myself to pack in bug repellent. The gnats were nasty, but at least there weren't mosquitoes! I was really drawn to the abstract shapes and how this guided the eye around and through the painting.

Springhill

9"x12"
oil
This weekend was beautiful. Slightly cloudy and WARM. I worked on my wood sculpture in my garage on Saturday and painted outside on Sunday. This is a spot I've passed by many times, a lot next to a fire station. You never know where you'll find inspiration. Often, it's right in your backyard!

Copperas Street

8"x10"
oil
Here's a painting from my trip to Manchester, England from April 7 - 14th. Needless to say, it was wet and cold, not my favorite working conditions. I was there on a business trip with my PHA partner, Frank. We were determined to get in some painting. We painted in Manchester, Liverpool and in Heaton Park. This is the best of 3 paintings of a street corner in Manchester.

Flight

11'x14"
oil on panel
This past Saturday, I was honored to photograph a fantastic model, Sera Song. This is a quick 1 hour study I started at 9 pm on Sunday and finished at 10 pm. I'm excited to have almost 500 photos as future reference for both my painting and sculpture!

Bent In The Middle

9"x12"
oil
Chasing clouds on Sunday morning, I had planned a different painting resplendent with outbuildings and cropland with an emphasis on the sky. Reaching my spot, the clouds were gone and I realized it was too cold and windy from my vantage point so I opted for the protection of the barn. This turned out to be a warm and comfortable spot.

Late Fall

My latest studio painting! I already miss the fall, yet I'm excited to see spring again!

Window To The Fall

8"x10"

This house and outbuildings are in the middle of a field in west Round Rock, Texas, surrounded by high undergrowth and trees. The window is literally viewing the eventual demise of the structure on the left.
