Warm Winter Day

Today was an anomaly. Late January and 75 degrees. Quite a few folks took advantage of the sun and were out biking and walking. I took Stella out for an afternoon painting session.

It's supposed to be in the teens later this week, so it was nice to bike yesterday and paint today!

Brisk Afternoon

I painted this on a Saturday when a cold front was moving in, so it got colder and the paint got stickier. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

January Cedar

I was drawn to the cedar highlighting this oak that had lost it's leaves and the limestone steps leading down into the creek bed.

New Year

This is a 9x12 I did on January 2nd.

Old Barn

9x12 oil on canvas board.

Painted this New Years Eve near my house where hwy 620 meets toll 45. I was below the bridge, so somewhat out of site.

A highway patrolman stopped by to make sure I was OK. That was nice.

Happy New Year!

Giving Thanksgiving

Saturday after Thanksgiving, I took advantage of the crisp temps and painted this 2 hour plein air.

The leaves are brown on some trees, gone on the others, and turning on the oaks. Still have a few weeks of beautiful colors!

Dry Creek Bed in Autumn

No matter the places I try to paint, I always find myself back here about 2 blocks from my house. Unfortunately, all the creeks in the area were devastated by the floods a few months ago, and still bare the scars and debris. I'll post a better photo soon.

Autumn Sycamore

8X10 Oil on Canvas Board

I painted out at Bull Creek Park yesterday, just before the clouds moved in. I've been meaning to catch the Sycamores turning. Plus, I love painting near creeks so Stella can take in a swim.
