Hutto Stable

8"x10" oil on linen panel
Saturday was a beautiful mid-60's with slight wind and bright skies. I found this stable along with a house and outbuildings that had seen many years of neglect while I was driving down numerous County Roads in the Hutto farmland. It's actually on the other side of the field from my last studio painting, "Stories To Tell".

Stories To Tell

18"x24" oil on linen
Just finished this studio painting. Like most of my studio work, I like to take another look after a week of so just be certain I didn't miss anything. This little shack was in the middle of a field in Hutto, Texas overlooking soon to be crops. I imagine it's only time, (and money), before the farmer cuts down the trees and plows over the building.

Still Standing

This is a cotton gin in Hutto, Texas that now plays host to the occasional farmers market and houses all of Hutto's unissued garbage bins.
Think I'll be coming back for some fresh produce soon.

Cotton Gin

Last weekend I was driving through Pflugerville and noticed this abandoned building by a church. I couldn't wait to get out there and paint it. Yesterdays weather was hit and miss, but I'm happy I captured this.

Duck Pond

I painted this last Sunday, but couldn't photograph it until today due to the weather.

Here is a studio painting I just completed. It's another Lost Maples Park rendition.

Tractor

8"x10" oil on linen panel

Here's a plein air painted on Saturday. I was planning on painting this last week, but got sidetracked into painting the barn due to the interesting shadows at the time. This tractor has no rubber tires. The back wheels have metal paddles on the sides that dug into the ground and steel bladed discs as front wheels.

Last Day of December

It was a warm day on New Years Eve, so I went out to paint farm equipment, but the reflections on the barn were too appealing to pass up and the interior really presented a challenge. Happy New Year, friends!

Waterfalls

Plein Air

Ok, waterfalls are hard to paint plein air! This is at the end of one of my bike rides. I took this week off and painted this Wednesday afternoon. There is actually a bridge over the falls that I felt was distracting and I had painted in on another outing. A challenge I felt was worth the effort.

Fall Colors Mid-December

8"x10" oil on linen panel

It seems the trees turned overnight here. I was afraid with the drought there would be no color this year. What a wonderful surprise!
